The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe

This piece of literature was a pleasure to create a film about. Using 3d and 2d animation software and a whole array of programs I was able to produce this as my final project at Central Saint Martins. It follows an unnamed narrator who insists on his sanity after murdering an old man with a "vulture eye". The murder is carefully calculated, and the murderer hides the body by dismembering it and hiding it under the floorboards. Ultimately the narrator's guilt manifests itself in the hallucination that the man's heart is still beating under the floorboards.

A man walking his dog. Well thought would be boring! While working at Passion Pictures in London I made this 'short'. The characters feel the full force of a tornado and as a result transform into a Dogman. But could this actually happen? Could this transformation be believed and accepted by mankind? That is the role of Dogma in this short.

Stray's Can of Cancun

This is a cut up of all my films to the beats of Stray, a great artist and friend. It's an unofficial music video and I thought I'd put it up to show my view of how the beats work with my work - conveying my perception.

There's so much beauty in the world

I made this film, having watched that scene in American Beauty and wanted to convey my criticism of the world. The lack of beauty juxtaposes the movement of the leaf as it moves from scene to scene. There is a distinct lack of movement from all parts of the set other than the leaf, which continues to turn and flutter, symbolising the insatiability of nature

Paranoia - with words from Orwell's 1984

Having read 1984, I attempted to install key quotes into my short  on one of the themes - Paranoia. The film noir style and american commentary is there to create suspense and that feeling of paranoia, that the character also feels. The character discovers he has been watched the whole time, his every move noted, much like that of the Truman Show.

An animation with pastel chalks portraying how Man came about. The style is my own and was created at Central Saint Martins for a project. It end with a question mark to make you think about what is next is store in the continuous evolution of Mankind.

 Modalen Verben (Modal Verbs) German

German Modal Verbs are quite complex. I hope this guide will inform you how to get to grips with the difficulties of German Grammar. An English boy is off to Germany to gain some (much) needed revision of his Grammar. He bumps into a German, pardon the pun, who proceeds to correct the boy's grammatical mistakes. The characters are made of plasticine and modelled in my style on real people.

Vier Augen

This film 'Vier Augen' (Four Eyes) is about East and West Berlin during the Cold War. The Berlin Wall is built overnight and a couple's relationship becomes stretched. In an attempt to escape from the West and rejoin his partner in the west, Jurgen faces an uphill struggle. The film's themes portray love and deceit and reflect the difficulties and compromises of life during the Cold War. It was made as a project for 'Landeskunde' and was written and directed by Robert Hall and starred himself, William Boulding and Frances Cragg.

Kentridge Style Tube animation

This was a test to see what could be done with the materials of rubber and graphite. The boy is moving his head from side to side, transforming as more graphite goes on to the paper.

Yours Truly

This film is called Yours Truly an animation with live action that depicts a dark romance of psychological tension. It is in a film noir style and I became very inspired by the director Osbert Parker whilst selecting cut-outs and sitting behind the camera.
